BELLSPIRATION CLUB - Katherine Meneses, Venezuela/Hungary: Self-discovery and self-awareness are antidotes to frustration and meaningless life (Part 2/4)

Slika
1. Dear Kath, you mentioned in a previous interview that you would like to be a change-maker :) You explained that you would like to help other people. Can you explain it a little bit deeper here? What do you exactly mean by helping them to discover themselves? Is it a sort of motivational work area or a life coach? Sure! There are two approaches I would like to apply when encouraging people to start their self-discovering path. Firstly, becoming a Motivational Speaker which, I am currently working on through the education program of the Toastmasters International Public Speaking Club. This education program is helping me to build skills as a mindful listener, powerful and effective communicator by working on projects focus on learning strategies for building connections with the people around me and connecting with audiences while giving a motivational talk, as well as, understanding motivation to deliver thought-provoking, inspirational and call to action speeches. Learning how to ma

BELLSPIRATION CLUB - Joana Freitas, Portugal: In social entrepreneurship, there's the concept of "creative destruction"! (Part 2/4)

1. Dear Joana, I know that you participated in a lot of youth exchanges. Can you tell us briefly about that? Would you share with us, how does that affect you as a young person who still creates her life? What are the most significant lessons from those experiences that you learned? I could write so much about this…  Literally. I am doing my Master’s thesis on the role of international projects in breaking the cycle of inequalities for youth. So I guess it starts there, on what I like to call "the magic of mobility". Being away from your reality, even if for a week, surrounded by new and different people who make you aware of your prejudice and stereotypes has a huge potential to transform you. On one hand, in simple actions like choosing the condiments for their food, people challenge your beliefs and show you there is so much more to the world than what you know. On another hand, equally simple things like speaking in a different language or trying new foods, and the opport

BELLSPIRATION CLUB - Sven Curiš, Croatia/Austria: Living abroad influences you to become an open-minded person and expand your comfort zone! (Part 2/4)

1. Sven, in a previous interview you mentioned that you have already lived in 3 states. Can you tell us a little more about that? In which countries and what did you do there? No problem! Except for my home country Croatia, I lived through my life in Austria and Russia. After I grew up in a village in Croatian Zagorje and in Zagreb through high school and college, my life abroad began three years ago when I went to an exchange semester in Leoben, where I lived for the first time on my own. That experience taught me above all how to live independently and organize your life by yourself. I liked that they have an international study program which is taught in English so that was my language for lectures. For everyday situations, I used German as I speak it fluently. Meanwhile, I saw an advertisement for the Joint International Master Program in Petroleum Engineering where I’m studying right now. Regarding the chance that I can study at 2 known universities and I love Leoben and Moscow, I

BELLSPIRATION CLUB - Sven Curiš, Croatia/Austrija: Život u inozemstvu utječe na to da postaneš osoba otvorenog uma i širiš svoju zonu komfora! (Part 2/4)

1. Sven, u prethodnom intervjuu si spomenuo da si već živio u 3 države. Možeš li nam ispričati malo više o tome? U kojim državama i šta si tamo radio? Nikakav problem! Osim svoje rodne Hrvatske, živio sam kroz svoj život u Austriji i Rusiji. To iskustvo me naučilo prije svega samostalnom životu i organizaciji.

EVA ZAVRŠNIK, Slovenia: It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities!

1. Hi Eva, how are you? I would kindly ask you to introduce yourself to the Bellspiration readers so that we all can get to know you? Hi Belma, I’m great! Thanks again for inviting me to be a part of your blog. My name is Eva and I come from Slovenia.  I’m 26 years old, I have a B.A. in Social Education and now I’m finishing up my Master’s studies in Safety and Security, specifically Criminology. I’m currently most wrapped up in writing my thesis and enjoying the last months of being a student! I’m usually studying, working, and volunteering at different organizations that support causes I believe in: women’s rights, non-violent communication, and creating a more sustainable and ethical world. Two of the things I’m most proud of and fond of in my life are a solo hike I did along the 200 km long coastal trail which is a part of the Rota Vicentina hiking trail in Alentejo, Portugal. Another is when I won a scholarship to attend a short film course in London MetFilm School, where I learne

BELLSPIRATION CLUB - Nevena Dimovska, N. Macedonia: At night the sky is full of stars, why wouldn't Nevena be the brightest of all? (Part 1/4)

1) Dear Nevena, would you be kind and tell us who Nevena really is, what she dreams about, what she likes, and what does she do? For the readers of the Bellspiration blog, introduce yourself, so we can all get to know you.  Before I start answering the questions, I would like to express my appreciation for being here, thank you for the opportunity to be part of the Bellspiration Club.  The Eternal Philosophical Question: Who Am I? A question that has always been difficult for me to answer and not because I do not know myself, but because I have never wanted to speak about myself. Maybe that is due to modesty, and maybe it is because of wanting people around me to get to know  "who I am" by themselves: Nevena. Sometimes Nene and Nena.  I graduated from two colleges, but I will not elaborate on that, because diplomas and titles do not mean much to me. Schools are where we get grades that don't always correspond to the level of knowledge we have. I think that what completes
